Hmmm...today kick off, normal other than me spamming SONG (only 1 song) er..stares was unavoidable, due to the fact it was relatively OUTSTANDING...question were the same, er...i did not stuff their mouth with lollipop though..haha...must thank thank, marcus, for extracting so much time to be our audience, and listen to our practices, and trying to cheer me up, by banning me from listening to SONG. haha...
Me,zhi hao and marcus went down to clark quey and met up with hawk. from there we go find the place, at 1st we scared we cant find it, but still ok... we were early...did a dry run again...then we feel thirsty, so we go find cheers, but go lost...ended up seeking help from a security guard...manage to find it...happy happy, buy choco...haha...got back to the NVPC and headed to the MPH, we were the 1st team to arrived, so we took a seat 1st...soon the other competitors came in...the event started...hmmm...we knew one of the judges, Mr Joe Lim from SEC. The starting team was from River Valley high School. They have alot of facts, which kind of scare scare me le, cos our presentation was kind of straight to the point...Er...but I was kind of bad to fire a shot to them...which currently still remain a debating topic...haha... we were like the 3rd team, when it was our turn, I was kind of scare scare, but i follow the SP Env Rule: "want to zai, den zai all the way
"要仔敢敢仔" I was nervous! haha...But I am glad I stayed firm and brought my points across...I think the River Valley wanted to shot back, but kind of backfired...oops..i say sorry to her here...haha....
One of the impressive presentation was by
Hwa Chong JC, they were great *claps to them* their presentation was indeed excellent, but due to the fact their slides were brighter then them, we look at the slides instead of them...
The secretary of Generation ACTS club also spoke about his opinion, which I had enjoyed and copied his points. His points are: in order to carry out any types of environmental projects, there are 2 main sections,
1) Stakeholders
2) Sustainability Firstly stakeholders make up of 3 main parts, government, corporate and the community. THe government has to be supportive, but how supportive can a government be, if there is internal corruptions, on top of that are they willing to sacrifice economy for the environment? Corporates, are not that easy to target either, are they willing to open up? As corporates are likely to analyze whether by participating in environmental projects what is their benefits? Community is also another major stakeholder, if the people there are already barely surviving, what is the point of telling them "if you don't go green, you may die of lead poisoning" they will rebuked "if i dun earn money today, I will die today of starvation" which is being practical.
Next is sustainability, can the government sustain the economy together with environmentally friendly? Can the community keep it up once it is brought up, or will it die off? the technology plays an important role too...so what is the level of sustainability there?
HE indeed had introduce me the bottom up concepts, which fits into our idea.
*Drum roll*....
now for the results...all of us got a certificate of participation, but top 3 teams will be receiving $100 for 3rd, $200 for second and lastly $300 for 1st...I have to admit haw chong JC is a great competitor, together with the river valley teams, they had send quite a number of teams...
3rd went to River valley high school,
2nd and 1st was relatively closed...
2nd went to Hwa Chong JC,
1st went to SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC ENVIRONMENT CLUB 3 cheers for SP ENV! We did it AGAIN!
