Lets start today's post with today's event, followed by the television shows i watch tonight!
today's event? Hmmm..i was the receptionist for the day. Haha...but all not looking for me, as i did not take up any cases. Maybe I will in my next holiday if I nv got for ITP. But as I was being a receptionist, i was studying applied micro with my very interesting textbook by my side. I was studying applied microbiology. As my msn nick suggested, i dislike medicines, now not only do i dislike chinese medicins, i dislike western medicine too! Penicillin sounds ok to remember but with the super long names like "sulfarmethoxazole, pyrimethamine which must be combine with trisulfarpyrimindine, azidothymidine, cephalosporins, vidarabine etc" thats not all though. It not only is long, but I duno how to pronounce them too. Haiz...Even my tester for the day had trouble pronoucing those words. Saddening. But I am glad at least i know them. =D
Today i was especially hungry, not too sure why also. I had breakfast, 2 slices of bread with tuna. Went to the office i had a cup of coffee and a packet of biscuit. During lunchtime I had mee siam, not even 1 hour later I said i was hungry. My mum went to deliver spoiler to toyota, so on the way she bought macdonald, she has a sixth sense that i was hungry. There was 20 pieces nuggets, 2 packets of mcwings. I had 4 pieces of nuggets, 2 pieces of chicken, and i was still hungry. So i ate another 5 pieces of nuggets. =D but i was still hungry, i even had another cup of coffee. Came home and ate dinner, now from my dinner time is only 1 hour, and i am hungry already...Hmmmm...wat is wrong with my stomach today? Seems bottomless today. *scratch head*

todAy have great television show. 1 is saving gaia on channel news asia, the other is human spirits: my story: my big foot.
lets start with saving gaia, there was 3 contries being shown, they are
~Taipei in Taiwan
~Manila in Philipines
~Shanghai in China
Taiei in taiwan there is a eco garden, which is also known as a eco burial site. There is no tombstone, no coffin being buried. The ashes will be placed in 5 little paper bags and will be buried at a spot. There is no tomb for it. The whole place is just like a park. You wont be able to go visit that "tomb" as a few months later there will be another set of ashes place there. There are in total 110 decese being buried there. The burial is free of charge. when you go there, there is no longer a need for tomb sweeping as there is no tomb for you to sweep, one just has to immerse into the surrounding environment which is free and easy, one can stay there and feel the presence of their loved one being buried there. It is different from the traditional chinese, where the grander the funeral, it shows how wealthy the family is, it is simple, and the soul of the decease does not live in the small square of the tomb, but it is free to roam around the garden. So this is a green revolution. There is also a couple, who use to sell plastic bags has given up that business to go green, the lady boss buy her clothing from 2nd hand shops so as to have the clothes reuse.
There is also a recycling station in taipei, where there are volunteers sorting out stuffs which are to be recycled, many though the place is dirty and smelly, but these workers are known as the happy eco volunteer. They also have a mini meuseum in the station itself, where they repair stuffs which are being thrown, without any usage of any new stuffs, like those nails they use in repairment were also being dump. SO they were using recycled material to repair recycled material. That is all for taipei.
Malina in Philipines, there use to be a dumpsite there, but now it is filled with greeneries. All thanks to the educating the public of not throwing their unwanted rubbish at the dumpsite. The 5% of waste in Philipines are being either incenerated or buried, what happen to the rest? they are dump at the dumpsite which has later created a garbage mountain. It stinks and someone closed it down. The public has oppose against it, as they deem it as a waste of time to clear that dumpsite as it was smelly. The excuses they gave for dumping their household rubbish there? they do not want to be late for work, and pure laziness, the easiest method of dumping rubbish is there. The garbage moountain were 75% made out of house hold rubbish. Thus they educate every house hold on how to separate the rubbish, from bio degradeable from non biodegradeable. They have learn that, we should take care of the environment, not tommorrow, not in the future but NOW. But why the sudden change, as there were flies, moswuitoes breeding the whole place is dirty and smelly, till no one could bear it. That is why the clean up has to be done.
One thing which i watch and i find it interestingly cool, were the ecoboys, not that they are handsome, but the system they were having. These ecoboys (it is their enviroment club name) goes around collecting biodegradeable food stuffs, they then buried them, allowing the food to decomposes for 26 ~ 28days, and *poof* these food turn into fertilisers. These ecoboys will give it back to the farmers tobe distributed and use for their lands. In return these farmers will give the ecoboys some fruits that grow out fom their land. THis is cool to be as it is a money-less transaction. =D
Lastly is Shanghai, CHina, it is metal recycling where they extract metals from computer to be reuse, I believe most of you should know this. Called the e- waste. One factor that wasbrought up was the expenses, everyone is talking about going green but there is a price to pay, so who will pay for it? They also had to be careful in degrading those epoxy chips so as not to pollute the air. From those chips they actually made gold bars, copper bars, hmmmm...so you can imagine the values of those thrown away computers.
So in conclusion we can find treasures in trashes.
Catch the show at Every Monday 8:30pm Channel News Asia

Next, is Lymphoedema, it was aired in the show at art central 9pm.
It was about this lady whose feet grew up to 107 in circumference, and weights 39kg. It is very big. I is caused by the swelling of the feet, mainly due to the fats being stuck there, as it is unable to circulate in the lymphatic pathway. So basically this lady did not have the money to go for treatment, thus her feet keep swelling, if it continue to swelling, she will be unable to walk and even fatal as she will ahve blood poisoning due to the stuck fats.
There were 2 treatments, 1 is liposucton, the other is massage. She went for the massage, there was another lady whose case was not that serious went for the liposuction.
The liposuction is definately faster, but more painful. they would 1st have to stop blood from flowing onto you leg, puncture holes, place a drill like thing in those holes and suck those fats out, they look yellowish in colour.
As for the massage treatment, they would wrapped the leg up, and make her ear a tight sock, this will force the fluids to move up her body so as to regulate it.
Bothe methods work, but all in the end, after the feets have gone back to normal size, they will have to wear compression sock, to keep those feet in shape and not allowing the fluids to clog at the leg again. It can happen in the arms too.
Thats all for today. Nites...
